Project: Custom Icon Suite

The Land Conservancy of West Michigan (LCWM) is a non-profit land conservancy working with private landowners and governmental bodies to permanently protect and care for land.

The main objective of this icon project is to ensure the preserves are welcoming and accessible to all people. I was asked to design a suite of icons to clearly communicate specific guidelines and amenities, while maintaining a unique visual connection to the LCWM brand. The icons will be used as an element of the 16-park signage upgrade taking place by the end of the year. The style is directly influenced by the Land Conservancy logo and wordmark. Each symbol pays homage to the world’s preexisting iconographic languages in order to maintain familiarity.
